How does one become a member of Alabama B.A.S.S. Nation?
Bass Anglers Sportsman’s Society members in good standing can join an affiliated Alabama B.A.S.S. Nation club or contact us to become a member at large.
What is the cost of ABN membership?
A one-year B.A.S.S. membership will cost $15 – $30 dollars. To renew, call B.A.S.S. at 1-800-227-7872. B.A.S.S. Nation dues are an additional $30 per person. Most clubs include this in their membership fees.
What do I get for my Nation membership fee?
Member benefits include early registration for B.A.S.S. Opens and Elite Marshall slots. B.A.S.S. Times Magazine ($24 value). $1,000,000.00 Liability insurance for your bass club and it’s officers. How can my club join ABN?
Clubs can submit a roster with $30 per member to B.A.S.S. to become Nation affiliated. ABN requires a fee of $30 per club per year.
How many tournaments per year does ABN have?
ABN has four regional qualifying tournaments where the top thirty boaters and the top thirty non-boaters qualify to fish the two-day State Championship.
Can anyone fish ABN tournaments?
No, only members in good standing can fish ABN tournaments.
How do I register for ABN tournaments?
Online registration/payment is available at www.albassnation.org. Entry forms are also available online to print and mail in with payment.
Can I register at the tournament site?
No, all entries must be pre-registered by the tournament entry deadline. Late entries are accepted only to even out the field.
Do I have to register with a Boater or Non-Boater?
No, it is not required, but you may register with a link and fish with that link, even if you are in the same club.
Do you pair Boaters with Boaters?
No.
Am I subject to taking a polygraph test?
Yes, by registering for an ABN tournament, you have agreed to submit to a polygraph if asked by the tournament director.
How does an ABN angler make the State Team?
The Boater and the Non-Boater winners of the four regional tournaments are on the State Team. The highest Boater and Non-Boater on the Angler of the Year list who are not already qualified makes the State Team. The top five Boaters and the top five Non-Boaters at the State Championship who have not already qualified make the State Team.
Are there any other benefits to making the State Team?
Yes, good discounts on many products from Lowrance, Mercury, Humminbird, Minn-Kota and others are available.
How does an ABN angler make it to the Bassmaster Classic?
ABN State Team members (ten Boater and ten Non-Boaters) qualify to fish the Southern Division tournament. The top Boater and the top Non-Boater move on to the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship. Boaters draw out and fish with Non-Boaters for the first two days. On the second day, the Non-Boater champion is crowned. He/she wins cash, a boat, free entry to the B.A.S.S. Opens, and gets to fish on the third day for a chance to go to the Bassmaster Classic along with any Non-Boater who has enough weight to be in the top ten of the Championship. They will join the top ten Boaters to fish for the three slots in the Bassmaster Classic. The top three in this tournament will also win a boat and free entry into the B.A.S.S. Opens. The winner will receive an invitation to the B.A.S.S. Elite Series with half of their entry fees paid.
